A class action suit was settled in February that determined that the Birthday Song (Happy Birthday to You) is in the public domain. Warren/Chappell Music is going to have to return 14 million in collected license fees. (If you didn't know it was not considered public domain, now you know why they avoided singing it in so many movies and TV shows.)
