A rather spontaneous recording I made during a practice session. Enjoy!

Spontaneous! Most of us would have trouble doing it even unspontaneously!

That is superb. What an achievement.

My first thought when the piece began, and more so as it proceeded, was that it feels like Robert Palmer's Toccata Ostinato gone wild.

That was wonderful and I am so envious! I love this piece so I bought the score. Alas, so many 10ths I can't reach. Bummer.

This young man's playing is so fantastic on so many levels, even when he plays music I would never want to play!

Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for your kind words! I can definitely see the similarities, perhaps Ligeti listened to this piece before composing this etude? 😁

Thank you! Well, unfortunately Ligeti isn't very kind to the hands, to say the least...

Regards,
Wow thank you so much, though I don't understand why you wouldn't want to play this... 😁

And I don't either!
(I would if I could.) ha

Actually I can understand it. This kind of music may be an "acquired taste" -- and some people might never acquire it, or want to. grin

I have found it similar about late Scriabin. I love it (well most of it anyway) ha and love playing it, but it took me decades to get to where I much cared for it, even before we get to being able to love it.

Yeah, you've got a good point there, I think my ears are getting a bit TOO accustomed to this music, to the point where my interest in the music of the romantic period has significantly decreased.

And you can count me into the late Scriabin fanclub (if there is one) ha
