The one many of us might have heard, before knowing that a Brahms existed:

The original German version:

And a beautiful piano solo paraphrase by Eduard Schütt, performed by the wonderful Petronel Malan:

I've always felt that only one with a real, tender love for children could write such a tune. Brahms is said to always have carried candy in his pockets to give to children during his walks around Vienna, and a trail of kids would always form behind that short, bearded man who had goodies in his coat.

For a piano solo version I much prefer Cortot's transcription. The Schutt paraphrase seems far too elaborate and out of character for this piece.

Percy Grainger's transcription also is too elaborate for my taste:

Thanks for the Cortot transcription. I downloaded a copy from IMSLP. Quite lovely.

I was also unaware of the Corot- thank you for sharing it! So beautiful, and yes, much more true to the spirit of the piece.
And wow, every Cortot recording speaks to what an immense artist he was.

The Cortot version is the one I know. I have, somewhere, a version that sounds remarkably like it but suspect that is is a simpler arrangement in one of the many books (such things as 'Golden Hours' and others) that I bought many years ago.
