Hi all. I went to try some pianos this weekend and was really surprised by the richness and excellent feel of a new Kawai GL50. The dealer had it listed for $33K which is out of my range so I didn't think much about it but it kept nagging at me how much I liked it. So I wrote to him and asked about a GL40. He said it could take a long time to get a new GL40 and instead offered to drop the price of the GL50 to $25K with shipping included. Piano Buyer has the MSRP as $39,995 and Kawai US has it listed for $44,295 on their site, either way it sounds like a good deal to me. So I just wanted to check in and see if that is in fact a good price compared to what they usually go for if anyone has any experience. Thank you.

I agree with JosephW, if you like it... GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
10 year transferable warranty?
ABS Carbon ACTION?!?
6’2” should be good... if I upgraded it would be a around 6 ft grand.
No NEOTEX?!? 😭 One of the perks of owning a GE-series piano. Should still be fine.
Hope you get a good deal!

Hi, I forgot to mention something.
I have a GL series book from a dealer, I was interested in a GL10 a some point but didn’t buy it (bought GE30) and he gave me a book to read.
From KAWAI... just a short one with details of the pianos.
I can share if you would like.

That’s a great price for a new piano. Especially nowadays.

I had written off the GL series originally, having only played the GL10. But when I heard the sharp, full bass and the action felt perfect to me, it was time to re-evaluate. What is NEOTEX? Is that the coating on the finish? What do they use instead? Yes, the book would be awesome, thank you very much!
