I would love to share a small piano arrangement that i've wrote of a traditional Kuwaiti song along with a brief description of what the song is about.

SoundCloud Link.

In the past, The sea was an integral part of Kuwaiti people's lives, it was their livelihood. either by diving in search of pearls or by traveling all over the world in search of merchandise to sell.

However, these journeys were dangerous. and it have frequently led to the demise of many men. As such, Kuwaiti people had a conflicting relationship with the sea, it was both their livelihood, and a source of tragedies for them.

In the first part of this song, a women is searching for her needle to knit her son a new robe, she keeps asking where her needle is.

In the second part of the song, a group of girls asks the women what is she looking for, to which she replies that she is looking for her needle. they then ask her what is she going to knit? to which she answers a robe for my son.

The song abruptly ends when the girls inform her that her son has passed away.

Nice, calm song, Nightshade.
To me the ending doesn’t seem to convey the dramatic meaning it is to be expected from your words

I liked this! But I do agree with mydp that the ending is not as poignant as I would have expected from your description

Thanks for listening everyone! really appreciate your comments.

The reason that the ending isn't as dramatic as the meaning behind the words is that this is only one part of a play. the play continues with the girls pointing to the mother how people are all gathered to celebrate and honour the martyrs who made their country proud, and how the flags are raised high.

it's quite a patriotic play. smile
