beep beep Happy Chinese Lunar New year to all  !! sorry arh, didn't post for a long time, but i do read up the thread now n then, beri busy lately.... tuning tool: one of my customer got it from renner piano. sometimes cristofori bedok also hv, but must wait long if no stock. piano tuning very easy mah, just turn forward/backward, n use the rubber to poke poke only mah... hehe

Hi there! Just checking in the make sure I'm part of the longest thread ever. I hope reading here from beginning to end or even getting involved with whatever debate is going on, is no longer a prerequiste to be part of the action.... Norbert  Like Norbert, just dropping in to say hi and to bump the thread up to the top!  Been so busy that I almost can't believe it's already March of the new year. I just discovered there is more to piano music than my beloved Bach – there is a whole new world in repertoire from late 19thC and beyond. Looks like I can skip the Classical and Romantic periods

:-p Well, you can't if you were going to take an exam or something. Anyway, I told my teacher since I am middle-aged, it is time I do what I really want! I think appreciating different music might be one of those seasons of life things; perhaps I will suddenly like the Romantics when I am in my dotage...

You hardly look middle aged! I do agree with doing what your heart desires; life's too short in any case. Bach and early 20th century are often a little too intellectual for me. But perhaps I will grow to love them in time to come.

Middle-aged is sometimes quite vague – depends on your hoped-for life expectancy, BUT... age tends to show earlier on women, and later for men, because men have thicker skin, mah (I am not making this up)!  A friend of mine wants to die by 50 because by then her kids would be mostly grown-up and she doesn't want to become slow and wrinkly. According to her, Michael Jackson stole her perfect death-age! Anyway, middle-age for her would be 25, lor. Btw, she is only in her early 30s so 50 might feel like a long way away...

50 is the new 25. Plus the two people who are complaining about their age really look approximately 10+ years younger than they actually are. A popular verse from medieval Japanese Noh theatre roughly translates (and somehow ties back to the original exchange): "A man's life of 50 years under the sky is nothing compared to the age of this world. Life is but a fleeting dream, an illusion -- Is there anything that lasts forever?"

Haha! When I was 12, I thought I was really old (like being the most senior in primary school) ... so I was middle aged while in Pri 3.

I was 29 for many years. Then last year I decided that it was time to turn 30. So I did. Not sure how long I'll be at this age though. Hurhurhur.

hi all
I need some help here...can someone recommend me some reputable shops for used pianos? so far i have been to asia piano, yamaha & robert piano...
i still haven't decided whether to buy a new piano or used....as i recently just had a bad experience on used piano...lucky the seller refunded me the $$...keke
i just started learning piano....and my son is currently learning too...so i have no clues on using a gd used piano...
any recommendations...so far i only looking at yamaha n kawai...

First and foremost, thanks to all the generous sharing posted in this forum.
Can someone please advise me why Wilhelm Tell pianos are not mentioned or listed in Larry Fine's book? (Pardon me if I'm wrong...) Also, any comments on the action or performance of Wilhelm Tell's 125 Bern Silver would be appreciated too.
I've seen and heard the Wilhelm Tell's 132 Zurich and from a novice point of view & aural skills, it seems to be quite a 'beauty' too. So, how would one rate the 132 Zurich compared to say..Yamaha U3 or the equivalent?
