I'll be in San Jose next week on a business trip (staying near the convention center). I was wondering if anyone knew of a possibility to get my hands on a piano to play once or twice for an hour or so to keep the fingers moving? I'll be back home in Munich Saturday afternoon and playing in a recital on Sunday afternoon (I know, not very wise, but it didn't work out datewise any other way).
Forgot to say: I won't have a car, but I gather public transport in the area isn't too bad.
Thanks in advance,
Markus

Carnes Piano may be your best bet. Call them and ask for Scott, Darlene or Bos.
I am sure they will be happy to have you, they are a fine dealership and feature top brands including Kawai, Shigeru Kawai, Bluthner, Seiler and Charles Walter.
If you like please call or email me and I will be glad to help.

Thanks very much for the info - very much appreciated. I don't think I have ever (knowingly) played a NY Steinway. Will have to make sure I find the time.

I second the motion for Carnes Piano. Good selection of high-end pianos.

Thanks again for the messages - due to a highly localised cloud of volcanic ashes over Munich airport yesterday, my flight got cancelled, and I will only leave today which takes 24 hours out of my schedule - I hope that I will still find enough time.
