This is probably not the intention of Amazon's Kindle and the various magazine and newspaper publishers, but they offer a free two week trial which works out for most folks as free news for the duration of your vacation.
I was given a Kindle for my birthday a few months ago and I still get a kick from ordering a book via the Kindle and having it downloaded within seconds.
We live in interesting times.

I'm reading through the second book of the Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy, The Girl Who Played with Fire and will probably start the final book tomorrow. Apart from all the Swedish names and locations, it's great.

Read "The Passage". Great book. It sure is... and I was delighted to hear that he intends it to be the first of a trilogy.

E-books are really great. It's nice to carry a bunch of books on the airplane, along with music and videos, all on one small device.
Windows Mobile is very dated and has no 'cool factor,' but it has allowed me to enjoy these things in a small package for quite a few years! Soon I'll have to move to one of the newer platforms, because book publishers are phasing out Microsoft Reader format.
