I just found that this terrific movie is available in its entirety on Youtube. With incredible music by Ennio Morricone, it tells the story of a young genius jazz pianist who lives of his entire life aboard a trans Atlantic cruiser at the turn of 20th century. He even has a cutting contest with Jelly Roll Morton.

The most famous scene featuring the song Playing Love:

The movie trailor:

Nocturne with no Moon, another great piano solo form the movie:

A Mozart Reincarnated
, another piano solo from the movie. Kind of like Morricone meets Mozart:

If you're interested in the music(exactly as it is played in the movie) for Playing Love or A Mozart Reincarnated please PM me with your email address.

Does that include the music that he plays in the duel?

So... posting a DVD about the art of piano (or however it was called), sparked a small debate about copyrights, and caused Kreisler to change the initial links once, and here nothing? wink

Really... I mean just buy the DVD or the soundtrack. It's not that hard to get I'd imagine!

Good point. I'm sure if Kreisler started with the first post from youtube here, it would take quite long time to change all the links that are potential copyright infringements.

nice movie, maybe a bit long(-winding), but fun piano music and scenes. that scene where the ship rolls from side to side, pushing the loosened piano around the room, with 1900 still playing on it and his friend getting seasick, is priceless!
i'd love to take a look at the music (PM on the way), especially some of the rags.

btw: most of these videos aren't viewable in germany (and probably other EU countries) because of Sony copyright claims, though strangely the movie parts are (yet).
