I've been using lambs wool to wipe my Estonia 190 down. But I've noticed lately that not all fingerprints come off. I'd like to use polish but was always a bit leery about that. Any suggestions ? Thanks and regards, Roger

Cory - They have formulations for the various types of piano finishes. http://www.corycare.com/piano-care-products.htmlThey are readily available online and at most piano stores.

Thanks Marty. Have you used their products?

Sure have! They work great and are safe for the finish. On a gloss finish, it can be difficult to get finger prints off.

jollyroger,
Please refresh my memory. Is your Estonia polished or satin?

Hi Rich, it's polished. It's weird. My piano is sheltered from direct sunlight, but in the afternoon, I get a some direct sunlight in my living room for about an hour (not directly on the piano) and I notice some small smudges along with any dust. I've tried to wipe them clean with lambs wool but to no avail. 99% of the time, I don't notice it because it's only during that one hour period during the late afternoon where it's noticeable. Thanks and regards, Roger

+1 on Cory Polish. We provide a bottle with every Estonia we sell. Their "high gloss" is also suitable for Estonia's matte finish because it is non-abrasive.

On a gloss finish, you might try a high quality micro-fiber cloth. They are less abrasive than lambs wool. Micro-fiber will easily buff off fingerprints without damage. The Cory cloth is very good as are the ones you can get at car detailing stores or motorcycle shops. Just make sure you do a careful dusting before you do any buffing, with or without a liquid.
My pianos have gloss lacquer finishes and I'm leery of buffing hard enough to remove prints, so I use the Cory.

Many thanks to all for the great suggestions - especially Marty. I just ordered Cory Care Pre-Polish Finish Cleaner and Super High-Gloss Polish and yes, I'll avoid the lambs wool in favor of a micro-fiber cloth. I'll apply the cleaner first, let it dry thoroughly and then apply the polish. Best regards, Roger
