It is just enough for the highly simplistic and repetitive Waltz in Diminished Thirds.

Is the music desk really needed for this genre?

Looks similar to Steingraeber's Grail-Bells upright for Wagner's Parsifal.

Not a music desk, it is a rhyming slang dictionary stand.

At a prior shop location of mine there was a studio in the basement used by bands to rehearse mostly. Every Wednesday for several moths this one group would come in an play the same tune for at least two hours. The "melody was; do, re, me! me, me, me, me, me, me, me,. Beat was; quarter (note), quarter, eighth, eight rest, eighth, eighth, eighth, eighth, eighth, eighth, eighth, repeat ad-naseum. You can tell it stuck in my head!!!

So the two black keys on the instrument above could be removed!
