I'd assume the ones looking like real names are actual real names.
And I'd assume yellowsubroutine is a software developer who enjoys The Beatles.
I'm missing an "op" in the end due to technical reasons that were seen only after already having registered. But maybe that's good as now there's no "poop" in the name.

Long ago, Mack was a common "name" used when calling out to someone you don't know, as in "Hey, Mack". It's more or less equivalent to "Hey, you!". I wanted to register as "Mac" on an online board long ago. The name was already taken. Not too surprising. I tried "MacMac". Already taken! So I settled on "MacMacMac". Not very imaginative, but there it is. It's not short for Macintosh, neither the Apple computer nor the line of high-priced amplifiers. Nor am I a Scotsman ... but if I could magically change my heritage I would be.

Back in 1991 when Terminator 2 was released I was 12 and that movie stunned me to a degree it became a huge obsession, well, like how a 12 year old kid would become mad about a movie The fictional corporation that manufactured the T850 was called Cyberdyne Systems and that sounded so cool to me. It was also a period in Bulgaria’s history, right after the fall of the communism, that everything American was considered cool (in an opposition to everything ex-Soviet), and some people I knew (kids and grown ups) would name themselves with the English equivalent of their name (if any) just for fun in informal situations. My name is Evgeni and it has equivalents in most languages with Eugene being the English one. I thought that was really cool (only to realize many years later that to American people it’s rather old-fashioned and even ridiculous). I had read Gene Hackman was actually a Eugene and so that’s the story how I chose my nickname a few years later when first chat rooms in IRC appeared

I'm some iteration of "fool" in various places. Tried "pwfool" here for a short version of piano world fool - may have been taken so reversed fool to loof and then shortened the whole thing to just the initials: pwl
Feels a bit inadequate in the shadow of some of the great user names here!

Well, with mine it's obviuos, I think - I simply started learning piano at the age of 33. And there also are a novel "Monday Begins on Saturday" and a movie with the same name. So, I found some sort of similarity in this. Monday Begins on Saturday. Piano starts at 33.
If you wonder what may happen if you start learning piano as an adult (at the age of 33, for example) - subscribe my channel and let's find this out together:) YoutubeChannel Nord Piano 5

My first initial is 'S', phonetically pronounced 'Ess". My surname is Bracey but I've quite often just been called Brace. So EssBrace seemed like a good idea at the time when registering but I dislike the way it looks on screen.
My original plan was to call myself 'desperate fool who has spaffed tens of thousands up the wall on an endless series of digital pianos in a futile quest to find the holy grail and as a result is now a broken shell of a man'. But it exceeded the character count.

Well, I am hepped up on making music with an iPad and wanted to inspire interest in the iOS platform here on PW. Alas, not much interest, but still a great forum with nice folks and good info.

So, many of us are fools or nincompoops of some sort.
(Or maybe it's irony. I'm not completely cloth-eared in reality. Maybe even a tiny bit musical.)
And iPads are expensive. But sure, if I wanted to use music software on a mobile device then iPad would be a great choice. But my Casio is right next to my Asus and I can reach both from the same chair.

toddy is an alternative nickname to which I have no claim what ever in real life. It sounded ok to me, so that's what I put and that's what I'm stuck with. It's a good thing that your parents name you. If it were up to someone else or some kind of committee, there'd be no end of disputes and claims. If it were up to oneself, it would be worse. You'd forever be wracked with self recrimination and regret.
Real life nicknames are organic and there's nothing you can do about them. I was reminded this August at a family meeting back in England that for about 10 years from the ages of 8 to 18 or so, my name was Bill. That's so long gone that I'd completely forgotten about it but I do have a nephew called William. Perhaps that's it.

bSharp(C)yclist - I enjoy cycling, and to ride bike around here you should be alert (sharp), otherwise you'll get run over by some [insert any expletive, mental state] driver. B# is enharmonic with C, hence the reason for formatting the name like it is with parens around C.
