When I load up the CFX Lite in its own player, Max engine RAM allocation cannot be set higher than 1.25 GB, and on loading certain previously saved presets I get an out of memory error.

If I load it up using the Plogue Sforzando player (which I believe I got with Production Voices Estate Grand), there is no such limit, and presets load just fine.

Any theories?

Go to the info tab and see what versions you are running of CFX Concert Grand & Aria Engine.

Provide extensive details on computer (how much ram etc) and OS are you using?

CFX Lite v. 1.010
Aria engine v. 1.960
8 GB RAM installed
Windows 10 Home v. 1909

When firing up Garritan there is more than 4 GB RAM unused and available in the OS.

Hmm. Garritan has some cryptic warning on updating the Aria Player and Engine the "proper way".

http://ariaengine.com/support/aria-engine-update/

I noticed that running Aria player for other instruments (e.g. Production Grand lite), the Garritan CFX Engine automatically updates. Maybe something there with v.1.960 (from 29 nov 2019)?

I clean installed my laptop in January and don't have the Aria player installed independently anymore as I don't use the Production Grand lite); just the Garritan CFX Full package (I installed with the key, then downloaded the update 1.010 on the Garritan site which is dated 2016). This is what I have now:

CFX Full v. 1.010
Aria engine v. 1.901 (from 8 sep 2016)

FYI - I definitely ran 1.959 (released 27 sep 2019) with Garritan CFX with no issues (posted that here).

There does seem to be some inconsistency with regards to Aria player. Garritan has 1.959 as the newest downloadable version, but I have 1.960 installed ... That could be indicative of something.

Do you have the same version of the player and engine installed (click the long black box labeled Windows below)?

Although 1.901 worked on my system, Garritan implies that most recent versions of Aria are for other VIs but were NOT tested on Garritan CFX

Same for me. I Installed Aria and CFX Lite in Februari and o had the same version number you have (v. 1.901) but now i just downloaded the update from here https://makemusic.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037425313-ARIA-Player-Version-1-959-Installer

Now it's Aria engine is v. 1.959.

So the orgiginal install does not include the updated version. A bit strange to me.

I would appear to have version 1.960 in both player and engine.

It might be easier to just uninstall the the Garritan CFX, the player, the engine. And reinstall.

I suppose it might. On the other hand I can run it just fine through the player installed with the Estate Grand.

Thank you for your suggestions!
