No, Kawai is somebody's last name and pronounced differently. It has only two syllables.
Cute in Japanese is three syllables" ka wah ee ee and uses a different character tp write it

His name was Koichi Kawai, founder of Kawai Pianos. https://kawaius.com/company/koichi-kawai/Cute = kawaii = ka wa i i = 4 syllables Kawai (piano name) = ka wa i = 3 syllables See here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Rab701Y44gSo yes, Westerners pronounce Kawai (piano) incorrectly when they pronounce it with only 2 syllables, but that seems to be the accepted English pronunciation.

I have to say Kuh-Why-E-E??!?!? I tend to say ka-why-eee (for cute), however I'm far from being a leading authority on Japanese pronunciation.
