I believe Frank just posts all the "for sale"ads in that subforum, since it's a paid service (so post-access is probably limited to just him)?

Thanks @NewerPlayer for the updates! I'm also commenting so I can follow this thread with the hope that something will show up in OH, IN or KY laugh

Hi mmathew - we do find used hybrids in your region so keep your eyes open. They can disappear fast, so you can check the following sources daily:

- PianoWorld "Pianos for Sale" section
- Craigslist
- PianoBuyer
- Reverb
- Facebook Marketplace
- eBay
- etc...

I see a Kawai NV-10 for $8k on SF Bay Area Craiglist today. Two minor cosmetic blemishes.

This hardly seems a bargain given that member RudolfRSK paid $7500 for a new NV10, and toomuchhashtag paid $8675 for a new one ...

Bargain, no. But it may be the reality of the COVID-constrained world we're living in today. Also, I think some of the low-ball prices were a one-off blip, aresult of an authorized dealer "going rogue" and selling online (out of region) for a lower price than allowed; I wouldn't expect that to be the operative price.

Have you seen the asking prices on Ebay?

Even before covid I'd often see asking prices for used pianos at or above the new retail level.

Asking high and accepting offers makes sense on craigslist, like the one cited above.

But on Ebay it strikes me as especially odd because that site mostly operates with fixed prices these days. It's no longer really a bidding site any more.

Speaking of Ebay ... does anyone use it anymore?

Right with you there about eBay. I'm using it less and less these days. I go there only when I can't find certain items elsewhere, example,
- Old stock or mint condition older metronome I like
- Yamaha's sheet music
- Other Urtext editions not available elsewhere

etc. etc. I loved the bidding 'era' of eBay. Not there anymore.

Novus...which model? NV-10? NV-5?
All three are NV-10. That one near Bruce in Philly is very attractively priced.

$5000? Is it broken or something?

That piano (in the Netherlands / western Europe) sits around €8900 new, including tax. I wouldn't expect it to be on sale for less than €7900; maybe €7500 if you're lucky.

I saw this one also. Seems like a great deal, but given the age of NU1 feature set, is it worth it, even at this low price?

I have an NU1 and I tried an NU1x. They are practically the same instrument. Nothing to object if you want to bash Yamaha for how '90s the feature set of this instrument is (in fact I'd join you in that bashing).
Keep in mind that the NU1x, currently in production and without a replacement in sight any time soon, does not have much more than the NU1 did not have already. At that price, if I liked the instrument (which basically means the action), I'd jump on it immediately. By comparison: https://denver.craigslist.org/msd/d/denver-yamaha-nu1-avantgrand-digital/7277954083.html

Check the user manual online to make sure it has what you need/want (it does have the metronome, ability to record and play -- even from USB thumb drive -- and play WAV backing tracks -- from a vintage looking user interface).

Assuming the nu1 is in good condition, I think $2k ask is superb value for a real Yamaha piano action. These rarely are offered in the $2k range but do pop up from time to time.

I can't think of any other digital piano in this price range that comes close.

If I was even marginally in the market, I'd take an NU1 for $2k in a heartbeat. Imagine getting a hybrid for the price people are paying for a decent slab like an ES8/FP-90!
