The fact that Kawai James is lurking in this post without comment on the topic at hand is enough credence for me laugh

After 6 months waiting I was expecting to take delivery of my NV10 next month. I now have a strong suspicion it’s stuck in a container on the Suez canal. Wondering if it will arrive before the NV20 is announced..

We have a confirmation for a NV15 from James, folks! laugh

Just throwing that in here, it could be an NV15 if KJ is on the money.

I'll try to head back to the Kawai dealership tomorrow and try to squeeze them some more info. It crossed my mind that perhaps they might know something about the ES120 smile

Perhaps I'll drop some bait into the water like:
'I see Roland have released their new models that outperform the old ES110...' and see if they bite.

Since they went from 110 to 520, 920.

NV 5, NV 10. Problem is the NV5, if both of these get a bump, they need 2 numbers which don't overlap the NV10 too much. Maybe NV20, 25, and 30.

Well, whenever these fine manufacturers leap frogged into a different segment or made significant improvements, their numbering/naming also changed significantly.

In my opinion, the NV10 already “replaces” the N2 and the N1x. The next step is obviously to build a grand style cabinet with a sound board and updated NV10 software. However, that will probably list for ~$19,000. Selling for ~$14,999.

Is that practical or even sellable? Adding the ATX or Aures software to the very popular GL10 grand and selling it for ~$13,000 makes more sense to me. The GL10 is 60 inches long. Compare that to a N3x (list price $23,000) at 47 inches. One foot doesn’t save a lot of space.

I would buy that if available in the US. Currently it is only available in the GL30, or in an upright.

Mission:Impossible!

By this time, James has surrounded the dealership with heavily armed agents, and has given instructions to “shoot to kill”.

If you even have a chance, you will have to drill your way into the dealership from underneath; then hold the dealer hostage from the inside and try to negotiate with James for the info we want; James, who will be outside with an army of agents, cannot be trusted, and the hostage(s) shall not be released until we (your team) confirm that the info he gives you is indeed correct.

Two minor setbacks to that strategy:
1. Guns are illegal on residential, commercial, and public property in Singapore (they're only legal for the police / military or on rifle/gun ranges).
2. My MIL is in the army - so perhaps I'll bring her along for the mission smile

I'll get a haircut and wear a disguise just to err on the side of caution... In case they decide to call in bonesaw bob to perform a Jamal Khashoggi 'operation' on me!

NV10 SE?

Definitely have to be more dramatic than SE. They should be thumbing through latin for days.

What a betrayal and disappointment that would be to NV10 owners. Lesson number one for premium products is to update them every 10 years, so that customers feel special longer. But Kawai are scarcely a company known for being strategic.

Kawai probably listened and is giving us that NV8-1 which is like a vpc1 but with a real grand action and cup holders and such.

Nope. N2 and N1X have multichannel playback routed to a multi speaker setup. NV10 is a stereo playback with multiple speakers not unlike a CA or Clavinova. In the opinion of many people that’s one of the reasons why N2 is so good: sound reproduction. N1X is a bit compact for this to make the proper impact though

Cupholder in 2021? At this point the engineering team should install a water jet which squirts bourbon right into your mouth whenever trills are played. cool

I never said ‘legal’!

James has gone rogue, and his ‘army’ is comprised of dishonorably discharged soldiers. These “agents” have nothing to lose and will do anything for their leader: James Guevara!

As per IMF, we have to stick to the plan of ‘infiltration from underneath’. We did consider infiltrating from above, but the helicopter is in the shop for repairs, so yes, we’re out of options, Ethan!

You just don't have the high level clearance to know about the Silent Flying Drones.
I would tell you but then you know what happens to you frown wink

All these years playing and I still consider myself a novice.
