I often sit at the piano for a while just before going to bed. Frequently I'm just improvising. This was one of those times. Although I usually don't bother to record my doodling I decided to capture this one, mostly because people often tell me I should record them even if I decide not to keep them.

With that change around 00:20 I hear some of that incredible melancholic glorious freedom feeling of one of the Rach concertos. 2 or 3; I haven’t listened to them in a while and so I don’t remember which.

Thank you for the beautiful video. I really enjoyed it.
I just received my brand new Estonia 190 from Classic Piano, Portland yesterday.
I have previously been playing a digital Yamaha.
I love the feel of the 190. It is so responsive compared to my digital. I have a technician coming in 10 days to tune it. I'm not sure about the bass. It sounds heavy compared to when I tried it in the shop. Perhaps it is my room. Perhaps it is because it is an acoustic instrument.
Anyway, thanks again for the music.

Hi JanCan,
Thank you for the kind words.
I love my L190, great pianos. The owner of Estonia piano is a friend of mine. Indrek is a true gentleman, talented concert pianist, and one of the top 100 graduates of Julliard. And his last name (Laul) means song in Estonian.

The piano is likely to sound different at home from what you heard at the shop.
You will probably get adjusted to it fairly quickly, and a good tuning always helps.

If you still find it a bit too heavy, try adding a carpet under the piano, or drapes in the room to absorb some of the sound.
Personally I leave the top up and floor it, but I'm an old rock n' roll musician :-)

Enjoy your piano, and if you ever get to southwest Maine please come by and visit my Music Shop

All the Best,
Frank B.

I had a Yamaha P-125 and just upgraded to an upright. I was shocked at the sound and power when I first started playing it. Now 2 weeks later I'm used to the sound and power. Congrats on your new baby! Exciting!

Beautiful! Just think how many lovely scores are only played once...I think they must all go to heaven.
