Spend some more time at the store with the ap710 and gp310 then, this is a tough call, mainly because of such good prices on the casio.

yeah no I'm just gonna go with the AP710, I'm not willing to spend twice on the GP310, Like I said i'm a beginer, maybe in a 5 years i'll get a high end model but i'm pretty sure the 710 will suffice for now, it's just to big of a price difference.

That sounds like a very reasonable conclusion. Good luck!

I have FP-30 for over 3 years now. Action for a complete beginner is pretty decent. But the sound is a complete garbage if you compare it to serious VST or acoustic piano. I play on Garritan CFX and going back to the original sound engine is like a joke smile
I would definitely changed it to other DP after a year if I couldn’t use VST.
So if you care for the sound you need to take into account spending additional $200 (or less if you like Pianoteq) for VST and probably the same for external speakers if you wish to play not only on headphones.

It's my understanding that the AP-710 is an updated version of the AP-650, which is what I have. They have the same hardware (keys, case, speakers) but the 710 has a newer sound engine.

I'm pretty happy with my AP-650 so I'm sure you'll enjoy your new AP-710!
