Any preferences of the two?

Note you can demo some of the VSL pianos; I think the models available for demo change from time to time.

Dire tonic, what did you decide? I have Garritan Full in Player mode (both mics on, no reverb needed). I use the Audience perspective and a slight bass EQ boost.

Between Garritan and the VSL pianos? I really like the sound of the VSLs but I play the Garritan more often. Feels more responsive. I probably should have returned the VSLs before the trial window expired but it was hard to make up my mind at the time.

With Garritan I use player mode, only the close (muting the ambient) with a dash of reverb using a plugin (not Garritan's own reverb).

VI labs Modern U upright is very nice too, more intimate but I play it less often.

Thanks dire tonic. Do you have the CFX VSL and their Bosendorfer 280VC?
