Hi guys!
How do you keep your pianos in tune in this global pandemic? Do you still call a tuner inspite of risk (covid19) associated with it? How are you dealing with tunings? Any insights will be helpful.
Thanks in advance!

Given the non-zero risk of contracting covid from a piano tuner and the need for multiple tunings you ought to consider tuning your own piano.

Having a happy piano at home has helped make the last year+ much better. Both my piano tuner and I are fully vaccinated and take other precautions when out and about (mask, limit exposure to crowds or strangers, avoid crowds of strangers, etc.).

Before vaccines were available, I didn't tune the piano as often. During the technician's one visit, we wore masks, and I ran a HEPA filter and stayed at the other end of the house most of the time he was there. Opened my windows before and after his visit. So far so good.

I think I need go buy a HEPA filter fit my pisno room.
I would feel a lot more secure even though I am fully vaccinated

Pre-Covid, I tuned my piano every three months. I have not tuned it since then

Dogperson, these reasonable steps add together for greater safety: if you and tuner are both fully vaccinated and wear masks, and you use a HEPA filter ($100-150 on Amazon last time I looked) and/or air out the room afterwards. If your tuner refuses to mask or refuses to confirm s/he is fully vaccinated, find another technician who will. How wonderful to have your piano back up to your usual standards!

This is what I had as solution.
