Do not say I did not warn you. smile Logout from PW right away and return only after you have played your NV5 for two months!!! smile It seems you are starting to hate it before you even played the first note in your home.

Seriously, do not torture yourself in advance. Give it a chance first. From memory, you bought the NV5 because you liked the action and the sound was good enough, despite your preference for the Bechstein. Trust your perception, in the end it is what will matters the most.

For myself, I expect SK5 or SKEX to appear in the list of Pianoteq8.
Based on the performance of Petrof Mistral in current V7, if Ptq can use similar methods and technologies to reproduce a SK in the future, I believe it can still achieve certain similarity you expected on NV5 through fine tweaking.

Oh I'm sure I will be VERY happy with the NV5 and I would have been happy with the Roland LX708 also. It's Yamaha that would make me nervous. I've always felt their acoustic uprights very lacking in creating different tonal qualities. The actions are smooth but to my ears they play soft to loud and that's it. No variance in tonal color., just a monotone.
