I'm putting the finally touch's on Mozart's K283 and had plans on starting K331, but.....my piano teacher had other plans. When he first suggested K283 I wasn't that thrilled, but understood his reasoning. Once I started working on the piece, I fell in LOVE! It's just FUN to play. I have Arrau's complete Mozart Sonata's, and after listening to it, decided K331 was my next piece....my teacher suggested the 3rd Mvt to The Tempest. Hmmmm.....yes, I've listened to it, but not 'listened' to it. I ordered it and while it was enroute, listened to numerous pianists play it. It definitely grew on me. Now, after spending a few hour's learning the notes/fingering, I'm having a lot of fun and am looking forward to putting it all together. Again, as with all the pieces I've listened to, pianists definitely have their way of playing it.

Always so nice to unexpectedly fall in love with a piece that your teacher suggests! It has happened to me with Russian pieces, especially when I still was unfamiliar with their sound.

Playing the piano is learning to create, playfully and deeply seriously, our own music in the world.
