It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
Hello everyone, my husband is just watching Lewis Hamilton racing in Turkey and he randomly told me that Lewis has had piano lessons and can play the piano quite well. Also the one of the presenters of the motor racing on tonight also plays piano, he apparently said he needed something to help him relax and piano was it, also it seems he is very good too.
I just wondered, do any of you know about anyone famous or any so called celebrity who plays piano that we may not know that does.
It seems to be a mindful relaxing hobby or pastime that many people have taken up. I find it interesting to learn who plays piano and would I have guessed that that person would.

Depending on how celebrated the celebrity needs to be before you define him/her as one, and what standard of piano playing you require, I'd say there are quite a number I've seen on TV interviews etc (especially since the pandemic) who appear to play the piano to a reasonable standard.....at least, if the music on the music stand on their home piano is anything to go by.
For instance, this morning, one of the deputy CMOs for England, Dr Jenny Harries, was interviewed at her home on BBC TV (about COVID of course) and behind her was a grand piano on full stick, with a complicated-looking score on the music stand (- the music itself was too out-of-focus for me to discern it) .
Then, there is Steve Rosenberg, the BBC's Moscow correspondent (who of course speaks fluent Russian) whose CV includes passing Grade 8 ABRSM at a young age, who once played the piano for Mikhail Gorbachev after an interview, and has played piano on TV prior to - of all things - the Eurovision Song Competition, when he played his own arrangement of all previous winning songs:
