Wagner's Siegfried Funeral March from Götterdämmerung, probably in August Stradal's transcription.

Or Louis Brassin's.....

Is there anything that Busoni didn't transcribe? smile

There's also a transcription by Lugansky.

Busoni tried to transcribe a lot, some of it was good, a lot of it can't meet our modern standards of 'taste' anymore, in this case, and in other Wagner-essays by many others, I must say: the original can't be beaten.

And again no word of thanks. How typical of the OP.

Die Krebs gehn zurucke,
Die Stockfisch bleiben dicke,
Die Karpfen viel fressen,
Die Predigt vergessen.

Die Predigt hat g'fallen.
Sie bleiben wie alle.

I bet there are at least 500,000 posts PW that are replies to questions and in only a small percent of them did the questioner write "thanks". You can look through the latest threads that have replies to questions and see only an occasional thank you. In fact, one thread you just replied to falls in that category. I have replied to thousands of questions, rarely get a thank you, and don't get upset or expect one.

Your post OTOH may be the first time someone berated someone else for not saying that.

I think the rate of thank-yous is a lot higher than you said, but at the same time, that post to you seemed like an odd way for someone to come back here for the first time in some years.

Besides, sometimes people are just too shy to say thank you, or I'm sorry, etc ... :-)
