It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
I had fun on stage, and I'm glad the spirit of it is present in this recording. For your reference, Garritan CFX was my main VST these past few months, and I use it with the VPC1.
Thanks again for all your warm messages! I especially loved Jane's observation about my cadenzas and embellishments. I kept the style while not forgetting to joke around in the process, heehee. :P
FYI the audio and video recording were top class, so the university took this performance very seriously.
Well, to tell you the truth -- I had to take it to an audio engineer I worked with last year for a remix. The original mix sounded thin and off balance. I am very grateful for his kindness to help me remix and he did what he could with the sessions.

Interesting - it came out pretty good! The Concerto was a joy and the engineering stuff is secondary.

unfortunately, sound production is *never* secondary
great performance and recording - congratulations
Thank you!!! And yes, I agree that engineering is important, especially as you listen to these recordings. A well-engineered recording will make you appreciate the music a lot more, at least that's been the case for me.
I stumbled across this post yesterday while doing some unrelated research on digital pianos. Clicked on the youtube link out curiosity and ended up listening to the whole thing through.
All I can say is bravo and wow! This has been one of my favorite concertos ever since I was a kid, and I've heard dozens of recordings and performances over the years. In all honesty, yours is as good as any I've heard, and I especially enjoyed your creative and tasteful embellishments - so well done.
Also, the cadenzas were wonderful and not ones I've heard before - did you write them yourself?
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks - this really made my day!

And, I wouldn't call them "written" by myself, but yes, they are all originals... depends on how you look at it, of course. Because I constructed around quotes and references to various pieces, not just musical materials from the concerto. I just wanted to have some fun, and from the comments I got back stage and online, I think I've achieved it.
