It says the 132 and 126 verticals (Brand Profiles) and the grands are made by Kawai in Japan.I must say that I quite liked the tone of the 126 and 132, and a mid length grands I tried.Perhaps place of production has changed? I did prefer the action or response of the GXKawai pianos though.

True Retsacnal. Samick has Indonesian and Korean production. They have nothing in Japan.

This is my personal opinion. I believe that the Boston is only a successful project when it has a generous margin. That is the only way that the manufacturer, Steinway, and the retailer can all have enough to make it worthwhile. This may be the introduction of Boston pianos made entirely by Samick, which generally has a lower cost than Kawai.
