I am learning this for fun, am now exploring the cadenza options for the 1st mvt.

I know Beethoven wrote 3, the first being unfinished. Although in my edition I think Kullak finished it. I like it. There is one of them though that is too long for my taste.

Glenn Gould wrote one that I have read through and like.

Any other suggestions to look at?

Personally, I like my cadenzas brilliant, powerful, bombastic, overpowering and long whistle.........like Luddy's last, longest and most bombastic & anachronistic.

But if you prefer something light, there's always Wilhelm Kempff's:

"I don't play accurately - anyone can play accurately - but I play with wonderful expression. As far as the piano is concerned, sentiment is my forte. I keep science for Life."

That one from Kempff is interesting, he modified the ending of the shortest Beethoven cadenza, I like what he did with it.

In general I’m a big fan of his Beethoven playing, love his sonata set.
