Yann Tiersen - Porz Goret with synthesia from his album 'EUSA'. This is truly one of the most beautiful and relaxing piano pieces by Yann Tiersen.

I like him for who he is - a soundtrack composer. What he did in Amelie is brilliant.

But whenever people classify his music as "classical" and talk about him on forums such as these, it never ends well. Amongst classical musicians, his music is just kitsch. Like Chopin without the genius. Great red wine, watered down and mixed with syrup.

Share his stuff in the non-classical forum, not here, and let him be who he is - a great film composer.

Also, you need to clean up your pedalling and work on evenness a great deal.

Isn’t the forum where a post is made decided by the poster? If any of us feel this music is too kitschy for the classical forum , can’t we just skip the thread? My opinion, for what it’s worth, is don’t read it if you’re not interested. Usually the thread topic tells you enough to make that decision.

Minimal music is a subset of contemporary classical music, and Yann Tiersen's style can be described as a type of minimal music. Therefore, he has his place on this forum.

I was a big fan of the Amélie soundtrack and recently came across this EUSA album. It's beautiful.
