Here, in the NY Times. Haven't used any of these, myself. Just posting because it's a frequent topic here. Before I got my whole-house humidifier, I was happiest with the Kenmore.

I owned TWO of the Kenmore's over a 19 year period and since they are no longer available recently replaced them with THIS model which is a little "lighter" but otherwise identical. So far so good.

Those reviews are all Amazon clikbait! I use the Venta humidifiers easy to fill, easy to maintain. Higher initial investment but worth it long term.

That might make for a good future PianoBuyer review, since so many owners are concerned about it. Hmm...

Same! One of my (three) Venta Air-Washer humidifiers is over 20 years old and is still running well.

Regards,

I use this one. It works very well and hold a large amount of water. AIRCARE Digital Whole-House Pedestal-Style Evaporative Humidifier https://smile.amazon.com/EP9-800-Whole-House-Pedestal-Style-Evaporative/dp/B00I9YFXSS/ref=sr_1_41?keywords=humidifiers%2Bfor%2Bhome&qid=1644595432&sprefix=humidi%2Caps%2C132&sr=8-41&th=1 I have it in my piano room which is open to the rest of the house. The humidity is good for everyone. It looks like an end table, so is not an eye sore in the room.

How easy is that model to clean?

The humidifier I have looks like that on the outside but cleaning the inside is a nightmare because the bottom of the humidifier has so many nooks and crannies. It can take me an hour to clean the brown gook out of the bottom, and the result is I only clean it very infrequently. I'm not sure what causes the brown gook to accumulate(possibly hard water?) because I do use a bacteriostat treatment to the water in the tank.

I have this model. Very easy to take care of and fill. https://www.homedepot.com/p/AIRCARE...idifier-for-2-400-sq-ft-EP9800/205446603

It has a paper "wick" which needs replacing after a few month, but other than that it's great.

Sounds like a lot of good choices out there - my requirements are: easy to fill, easy to clean and no recurring parts replacements. Got what I wanted.

I been using https://www.vornado.com/shop/made-in-usa/humidifiers-assembled-in-usa/evap40-evaporative-humidifier It works well and is easy to refill though I find the humidity sensor to be a bit borderline useless on it but I can manually turn it on and off but the water lasts about 2 days in my home and does the trick.

I use an ultrasonic humidifier, it's quiet and does raise the humidity a few degrees. Not that I need a humidifier much at all.(usually I only use a dehumidifier) It is not in the same room as the piano, and probably for occasional use the "white dust" is not really a problem..Actually I cannot reallt see any "white dust"Perhaps for long term use it may be a health concern?

In other words a hymn. That is all, but that is enough. tre corda
