I find that very disrespectful. This guy or girl should be given a SK-EX or CFX to play at this particular level of excellence.

I have played this Schubert impromptu 3 a couple of years ago. The videos are not hugely different as none of the pianists have bad technique with 'tension'. It also depends on hand size and piece. I found i had to have a flat hand as it was octaves with legato of the top line but yes my 5th used to be very flat which is not my normal technique. Now I'd know I need to collect the thumb in to allow less of a stretch on the 5th which allows more curvature and control. Plus even at the octave thumb and I can have a small curvature of 5th. Very hard for me to learn after so many years playing but entirely possible to change how you play with practice
