The ES520 and ES920 use the plastic key "Responsive Hammer Compact II" and "Responsive Hammer III" keyboard actions respectively. The CA48 uses the wooden key "Grand Feel Compact" keyboard action.

The following link will show a page comparing the specifications of all three instruments:

James, if i turn local off, does that reduce kawai's cpu load leading to more theoretically consistent midi out, or does the piano engine run in the background regardless of that setting.

I'm afraid I don't know.

Are you experiencing an issue with inconsistent MIDI output?

Kind regards,
James

Which pedal?

The included F-10H single damper pedal, or the F-302 triple pedal board accessory, intended for use with the HM-5 stand?

May I ask where you're based? Would you like me to place you in touch with the customer support representative for your region?

Kind regards,
James

Thanks for chiming in James. I'm not a casual, I lubed it up myself and it's working fine now. I was just commenting so you guys might consider factory lubing. it looks to me the design choice of plastic is that its self lubricating, but clearly that's not always reliable as mine started to squeak.

Did you also try the Bluetooth troubleshooter built into Windows 10?
It's good that disabling that particular device appears to have resolved the problem for you, and I will certainly bear this method in mind, however I wonder if there is a particular reason for the the device not working correctly on your computer in Windows10?

Kind regards,
James

I tried the Bluetooth troubleshooter and also reinstalling all the drivers, but none of it worked. And whenever there's a Windows update, that "ES920 Audio Avrcp Transport" gets re-enabled and I have to go to disable it again for the ES920 bluetooth connection to be work again

To tell the truth I have never connected my laptop to the DP via Bluetooth.
Do you experiment some latencies with the Bluetooth? I mean are you using the bluetooth for any VST?
Thank you in advance

I haven't used it for VST. I use it either to play iRealPro tracks by connecting through my phone or to output the sound from my laptop when I'm watching lesson videos on the piano since my laptop sound is really bad, in none of their cases I notice any latency issue

Ha, yes, if I've learned anything from my crappy M-Audio sustain pedal, it's that a good oiling is necessary. I have heard the sustain pedal that comes with the ES boards is generally of pretty good quality tho.

Hello,

@steve2603, That Kawai pedal is excellent, one of the best there is, not in any way to be compared with M-Audio (I have both).

*No* oil *no* grease please unless it would become inevitable at some point. I use two of those pedals and so far there's never been any need, nor do I foresee any.

Just keep it nice and clean as you should your keys and it'll serve well. The pedal measures its position optically, so never disturb the insides with anything that could interfere with that.

Cheers and good luck initiating your new piano,

HZ

Thank you! Will keep that in mind. It did indeed arrive yesterday can confirm the pedal is far superior!

Enjoying the instrument so far. Massive improvement over what I was using before (a MIDI controller with a mediocre, super heavy keybed).

I’m keen to get a dust cover for this thing. Any recommendations?

Essential! I use both the Kawai DC-L (large) and DC-XL (extra large) for different instruments. These I like a lot. For the 920, my estimate would be the DC-XL but maybe you could verify that or simply try both.

Cheers and happy caring,

HZ

^They look good! Thoman.de only has the L in stock, but there’s a post earlier in this thread that says L’a more than suitable for the 920, by Kawai James I think. Hmm

Yes, the L size should be fine for the ES920.

The XL is really only necessary for the MP11/MP11SE.

Cheers,
James
