I was looking for a piano and made several posts about maintenance, a GL10, and a GE30.

A one month search!

I ended up going for the GE30 and it turned out to be totally fine. It was delivered on Tuesday!

Oh my gosh. It is here...

A warm tone which I like and the touch feels pretty good but it definitely needs regulation!

I got it for $3500 total (yes that GE30) so I have the budget to make it a really great piano again!!

I canโ€™t believe this is happening... A BABY GRAND in MY house! Iโ€™m very blessed to be able to get this deal.

Videos coming soon!!

Congratulations on your "new piano". The GE 30 can be a nice budget piano with some technical work. Do you know the age of the piano? Do you already have a technician to help you with the piano. If not, we will likely have a recommendation for you.

Good Luck!

Thank you! I think itโ€™s from 2008 or 2009 from the serial number and I donโ€™t have a tech yet and Iโ€™m in a part of the Phoenix area that most of the techs will not drive to me or will charge a fee.

I'm also in an area where there are no local techs. Fortunately, I've been able to avoid extra fees because they can time their visit to me with visits for other customers in the area. But I was talking with on tech recently about how few young piano techs and tuners there, it's quite disconcerting!

Congratulations on your grand piano. It seems your cats share the excitement ๐Ÿ˜Š

There are a number of ways to protect your piano lid and bench from cat scratches which you can search in previous threads. Thereโ€™s info on rugs, pets, drapery, and hiring a tech.

Best Wishes on your piano adventure! Videos and pictures are always welcome.

Definitely get a rug. Oddly, Home Depot online has a great selection especially if you're searching for a round one. Congratulations, it looks lovely and Kawais are awesome!

When you put the lid down, cover the lid with aluminum foilโ€”โ€” your cat will hate the crinkling sound of the foil and will stay off the lid

It had a interesting history even in only 14 years. I think I can get it to be really good again though!
