Regardless of the action, I feel the tone of KG series is warmer and deeper and richer than RX of same size.

Definately I know and understand the tone depends on the condition of piano, humidity, mood, the space etc. but generally I can feel the more breath and more Kawaish tone from KG.

Persoally, I think KG tone is more similar to Shigeru Kawai than RX or GX.

Video sounds pretty good. I like it.

The tone seems like my GE30 actually.

The KG in your video sounds bright to me. This video below shows what I consider the signature Kawai tone, albeit it's a GS model, not a KG. I have heard KGs sound this way, however, so yes, I do like the tone of the KGs. My dream piano would be a 7 ft KG6C to restore.

I also love the blue felt on the KGs. Pity they didn't replace the fallboard felt with the original blue in your video to match the rest of the piano.

I am a huge fan of the KG models. They were great sellers and it was shocking when they discontinued the KG series. Not sure what Kawai was thinking.

Having sold plenty of KG-2's (variety of years, sub model designations) and plenty of RX-2's, I find them tonally to have the same range. Earlier KG's have the rear duplex muted off but later KG's have rear duplex that contributes to the "sparkly" overtones. There were some exceptional KG's or RX's that stood out, but I'm only considering ones that we felt were very good to excellent condition as a baseline.

If you are preferring the tone of a certain KG-2 over your RX-2, consider a different voicing approach with your tech (or a 2nd opinion) that might bring out more of the character you are looking for. Also, you might need to tune more frequently than average to keep it where you like it.
