I am a new (and quite happy) owner of DGX 670. I quite like the sound of default CFX grand layered with marimba (CFX- 100% volume, marimba about 50%)

Do you have a favorite combination of sounds that sound nice when layered together?

So far, there have not been many like you/witor; DGX670 owners happy to share their experiences on PW.

There have been somewhat frequent “how do i configure ____?” inquiries but many of those seem to be kinda like one-hit-wonders … people posting once or twice and then they go away.

Since i first became aware of the 670’s existence, about a year ago, in the “no love for 670” thread, ive spent much time reading/watching/listening to 670 info. Therein, there are so many sound / voice related features packed into the 670, maybe a year has not been enough time for owners to either figure out or discover which 2 keyboard voice combinations are their favorites. With well over 500 voices to pick from for pairing any 2 into a layer, and then testing, it may require more time to adequately test all possibilities 😀

Like you said, there is so many sounds in the DGX 670 that number of possible permutations is staggering ! That's why I was wondering which combinations people find to be nice. I know it is highly subjective, but my initial question was not really that serious. I was hoping for a few suggestions which would definitely got me to have some fun trying them smile

Last year, I upgraded from the Yamaha P-155 to the DGX-670. I love it and it's the best piano I've ever played on. Listed below are my favorite layered voices. The primary voice and I use is the CFX Grand on its default volume of 106. Also, I only layer the right side and leave the left side only on the CFX Grand:

1. DX Sweet - volume 80
2. OberStrings - volume 90
3. StringsPad - volume 60
4. SuperDarkPad - volume 80
5. SoftAnalog - volume 80

I hope that helps. If you're interested, I have some piano cover videos that feature the layered voices:
