Hi guys, after a long time with my P-515 (almost four years now) I decided to buy a piano bench. And boy it is hard to sit on for prolonged periods of time! I have the Yamaha NB1B and I was wondering if here in Italy there was some shop selling cushions for it or I could order elsewhere for a reasonable price. Thanks.

I use one of these 'On Stage KT7800+ Deluxe Keyboard Bench'. Very comfortable.

I went to the fabric store and they sold me a 2" piece of foam for furniture and some fabric for chairs. I took the original vinyl and pad off the bench and replaced it with what I bought. I found it pretty easy to stretch the fabric over the cushion and staple it under the seat. Came out looking nice and feels 100 times better. Total cost was probably like $20 USD.

The difference in the price: adjustable, pneumatic bench plus comfort. I like Mark’s suggestion for covering your own foam. If you don’t want to do it yourself, take your bench to an upholstery shop; you can choose the fabric and have them do the work.

on some days, i feel like piano in general is uncomfortable. sitting upright, the sweating, sight reading stupidly complex textures, what part of this is suppose to be fun ? vs tetris, now that's fun

@Purdyd Yep, I checked and it's on Amazon.it. I'm too heavy for it tho. I'll see if a carpenter can make me a custom one. Thanks everybody for the suggestions.

Look for memory foam cushions. In Italy maybe they call them something like viscolatex. You can find them in many webs or shops where they sell medical-orthopedic equipment.
50 or 60€ for a good cushion and forget about being uncomfortable forever.
