I just discovered I'm out-of-date:

. . . I didn't know that Shure had two electrostatic IEM's.

They're really expensive.

. . . Has anyone hear taken the $2000 plunge and tried them?

. . . Opinions?

Thanks --
I missed those also and don't remember trying them. The reviews are good and they are expensive.

Things I would consider:

- They have big hard cases that might or might not be comfortable in your ears.
- How do you like the sound isolation (vs say a more open IEM)
- Does the cable transmit microphonics

Here is a video from Jude the head-fi guy + 300 pages of forum comments. Rather than bad-mouth lousy equipment, I sense he just doesn't review it.

Sorry, Can't hep you with the Shures, but I too am 'electrostatic curious' and was thinking about a slightly smaller plunge and buy a pair of Linsoul Schoer Tapes which are 'Chi-fi' electrostatics, at the bargain basement price of €120.

There's been a whole shed load of magno planar headphones released from China in the past few years, most have had good reviews 'for the price'.

Things like the HIFIMan range, the Blon B20 (again from Linsoul I think) and loads more. I'd be interested to hear what they sound like in comparison to something like an AKG K712.
